None of this means grades and scores don't matter, or that an application has to be flawless. Holistic review rewards a genuine spike: one real strength, told through your own background and your own story, that a reader remembers. A student without a perfect transcript can outweigh one who has it, if that spike is real and well told. We help you craft that story. We help you build that spike.

A real extracurricular record with an outcome, essays that don't sound like everyone else's, recommendation letters that are specific instead of generic, and a strategy built around your own profile. Most applicants never get told this until it's too late to act on it.

How much you use a mentor is your call

Work with one mentor throughout, or bring in a second for a specific subject. Meet daily, weekly or monthly; pricing is predictable and set upfront either way. For a quick question, same-day homework help or a fast review, book a 20-minute session instead of a full one. Same structure for middle school, high school, or earlier, if you're getting a head start before either.

Every mentor is a current undergraduate at a top US university, chosen for how they got there. Many applied from abroad, so wherever you're applying from, there's usually a mentor who has stood exactly where you're standing.

We review every mentor application ourselves. Sessions are paid a flat, predictable rate, scheduled around your term.

It's your call. Book whoever helps you best.

Every mentor costs the same at a given length, so you pick on fit, never on price. Book one session directly, or buy credits ahead and the price drops the more you buy, down to for a standard 45-minute session, or for 20 minutes, at the deepest pack. A credit is simple: buy it once, spend it on whichever mentor helps you best, whenever you're ready.

Applying to a structured 12-week program

The Fellowship and Pioneers Program are Sterling's two structured, one-to-one curricula: twelve fixed weekly sessions, entered through a short, selective application. Regular weekly mentoring above needs no application at all; these two are separate, for students who want that fixed shape on top of it. Each cohort is capped by how many mentors can genuinely take on students, and every application is read in full by a person.

What the application asks for

Your grades: a transcript or predicted grades. There is no fixed cutoff.
A brief personal statement: around 300 words on what you're trying to do and why.
Your activities: what you do outside class, roughly how much time it takes.
Target schools: even a rough list, or a note saying you don't have one yet.
English at B2 or above: self-declared. The whole program runs in English.
Optional supplement: upbringing, identity, anything that shapes how you'd read a US application. Genuinely optional.
What you read, watch or listen to: be specific. It tells us more about how you think than a grade does.

Write it yourself

We ask you to affirm that the application is your own writing, without AI assistance. We can't detect it and we're not going to pretend otherwise, but a mentor spends twelve weeks working on your voice, and starting from someone else's is a waste of the place. If you're stuck, write badly and send it anyway. That we can work with.

The self-paced video library

A recorded version of the curriculum is being built and will open to Fellowship and Pioneers members at no extra cost when it's ready. It isn't finished, so we don't sell it. Everything today is taught live by a mentor.
